FAQs
What makes the Micro-Needling different?
The needles are arranged in a fractionated pattern in order to cause the necessary skin injury while leaving healthy skin in tact in between each micro-perforation.
How Does It Work?
The ultra-fast pulsation also enhances optimal patient comfort and shorter treatment time. Further, the MicroPen’s fractionated Turbo Safety Needle, as featured on the hit US TV show The Doctors, is designed to cause minimal trauma to the skin and surrounding tissue while still achieving desired end points necessary for collagen remodelling.
Is Micro-Needling Safe?
The MicroPen has an excellent safety profile, featuring a disposable tip and a cross-infection protection system to offer safe, reliable and consistent results. The new vented Turbo Safety Needle virtually eliminates the risk of crosscontamination by its unique needle cartridge which blocks the migration of fluids, even as it oscillates back and forth at a very high rate of speed
Will topical skin products be used?
Yes, The tiny microchannels created by the Micro-Needling are also ideal for the absorption of topical skincare products such as hyaluronic acid, lightening serums like vitamin C or wound healing topicals. This allows diffusion of the product into the deeper skin layers at a cellular level.
Is Micro-Needling as good as Dermal Rolling?
The MicroPen offers an effective alternative to common skin resurfacing techniques such as dermal rollers. It is also suitable for use in conjunction with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment, to maximise the skin rejuvenation results of PRP.
What does the treatment involve?
How much down time do I need following the procedure?
Patients can typically resume their everyday activities straight after treatment. Mild redness and some inflammation of the skin is typical, but this usually subsides after a day or two and can be covered by mineral makeup if desired.
How long til I can see my results?
Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results are cumulative, and continue to improve up to six months after treatment as collagen production continues.
How many treatments will I need?
Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve, and maintain, optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of two to three treatments spaced around six to eight weeks apart.
For patients with deep-set wrinkles, advanced photo-ageing, stretch marks or acne scars, it is advised to receive six to eight sessions at six-week intervals.
